“He also taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live. Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. (Proverbs 4:4–8)”

Love her, and she will keep you.
One of the things I am learning is that “wisdom” is a universal thing. That is, even when foolish people do wise things they get the benefits of wisdom. When wise people do foolish things, they reap the consequences. Sometimes I think, “I know this isn’t wise, but I’ll get away with it.” How much pain and suffering came from “I know this isn’t wise, but…”

Prayer for today
Heavenly Father, Please help me not to ignore the wisdom that you so graciously provide. Help me to seek it out. Help me to embrace it even when it is difficult. I love you Lord. Amen.
