“And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”
This verse is the answer to Jesus from a Father with a demon possessed child. He realizes that he cannot hide anything from Jesus so he honestly admits in that moment his real attitude. In the face of this terrible circumstance the man was provoked into being authentic for a moment. “I believe. Help me with my unbelief!”
I don’t blame the man for this. I really identify with him at times. But here is my take away. I don’t want to wait until I have no other option to be authentic in my relationship with God. I want to be there regardless of the circumstances I am experiencing.
The other thing is, God knows and sees my heart. If I can’t be authentic with Him, then I can’t be authentic!
“Without faith it is impossible to please God.”
