Devo- Sunday Summary

“Aren’t you being a little preachy?”
Many Christian teens may never ever realize it, but Biblical preaching and teaching can have a profound impact in our spiritual lives. God has chosen the proclamation of His Word to make a difference in our lives.

It’s kind of like the difference between looking in a mirror and looking at a picture of ourselves. We look in the mirror every day, and that is a perspective of our image that we see a lot. But then sometimes we see a picture that someone else has taken of us, and it’s at a different angle. It can be eye opening…

That’s what preaching does…God uses His Word to be applied to our lives in ways we may never think about. It’s important to put yourself under good, godly preaching.

So today, what did you learn at Sonshine? How can it apply?

Devotion- Sunday Summary for August 21st

love 2dcards thumbnailSo I’d like us to be able to re-state some of the things we learned in our church service(s) on Sunday mornings.  We’ll get a lot more out of them if we think about them at other times.

So here we go…

Today’s Text in the morning service:

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

1 Corinthians 13:13

Talk about (1)what you learned in Pastor Bales message today, and then talk about (2) how you’ll be able to use what you’ve learned?

This should be a lot of fun!

Devo for Sunday August 14

I’ve really been enjoying doing this together with everyone that has been participating. It’s been incredible and I think it will be something that will continue to help us change and grow.

So today I want to try something different. Being Sunday, I want you guys to (1)summarize at least one, but up to three or four things you learned in Connection Group, Church and/or Sunday Night service in the comments. I’d also like you to (2) talk about how it needs to apply to YOUR life. Be specific!

We’ll see how this goes! 🙂
