New Thru 30: Day 6 and 7

Day 6:  Mark 5-13
Mark 8
14
Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.
15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.17 And when Jesus knew it , he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.21 And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?

One thing I keep thinking as I read the gospels is, “Why didn’t the disciples get it? It seems so obvious!”
And at the same time, I don’t always get it.  In fact I don’t get it a lot.  I’ve seen God do some amazing things, but I doubt sometimes that He still will.  This leads to some poor ways of thinking when it comes to decisions I make.  That’s why faith is so important!

Day 7:  Mark 14-Luke 5

Mark 14
61
But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.63 Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?64 Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

What crime had he committed?  What was His guilt?  ”Admitting” that He is the Son of God.    Some say that Jesus never made this claim.  Those people are saying that you can’t trust the Bible.
