Accountable to God- Day 34

Today’s Text: 1 Corinthians 16:1-2

Today’s Key Thought:  A wise steward of their resources plans to give proportionally and weekly.
God has a plan to keep his church continuing financially….YOU! As a believer, God has asked us to financially provide weekly a proportion of what He has made us stewards of. Paul lays down, under God’s inspiration, a plan of how we are to provide. The early church planned on the first day of the week to give “…as God hath prospered him…” Not every person has been prospered the same nor is even prospered at the same times, but every person does have the responsibility to take on the same sacrifice proportionally when they are. The book of Malachi reminds Christians of their responsibility to return proportionately back to God what is His, we call this the “tithe”. A wise steward of their resources plans to give proportionally and weekly to the Lord’s work at his/her local church. God also loves it when His children give freely and choose to bless from heaven those who are faithful at giving proportionally and weekly what they are given.

 Application:

Where are you in your giving to the Lord’s work? It is your responsibility to obey in giving as God has designed for you. When you are paid is not the issue, when you give is! “..as God has prospered you…” so you should give back to Him that which is his through His local church. Today’s challenge is examine how you are giving and align your giving methods with God’s ways. When you give God’s way, God blessings are on your horizon!

I tell my friends about god and how awesome hi is and what he did for us but, it’s hard telling total strangers or people you don’t like because they might not listen to you and just ignore you as your saying what your saying I know that god has done so much for me and I need to repair him I give to my church and now I’m trying to share his word with people who don’t know about him.

God wants us to give back to him and not just money we have stuff we can use to give back like talents that God has given you like if your good at playing drums or guitar or what ever you should give back by playing at church or just playing songs that give glory to God or if your good at a sport you can use that too you can invite your team too church or tell them about God there’s a lot of things I can do to give back to God.

  3. I’m so thankful that God has given me everything that I have. My parents gave me a great gift when they taught me to give proportionally by tithing. For me, the thing I want to take away from today’s reading is that I ought to make my giving more of an act of worship and not just obedience.

Totally been procastinating on here the past few days, and I’m really upset that I let that happen. Time to get back on track!

I’ve been giving the past few weeks, and let me tell you, it is an amazing thing to be able to give to your church! I like what Pastor Ben said about giving as a sense of worship and not just obedience. Pastor Bales has said the past couple weeks, during stewardship month, that giving wasn’t supposed to be this time of guilt where we feel like we HAVE to give, but worship in the sense of rejoicing over giving back a portion of what God has blessed us with. Tithing is so important, and it’s not because church needs money, but because it builds our character in a sense of giving back some of what God has blessed us with. Chick fil a -even though it is heavenly goodness- can wait because I need to give back to the Lord’s work!
