Today’s Text: 2 Corinthians 9:7
Today’s Key Thought: Worshipful giving isn’t a “have to”, but a “get to”.
Lastly, Worshipful giving should be done cheerfully. What does it mean to give cheerfully? Well, Paul gives us a hint to it when he says that our giving should not be done “grudgingly, or of necessity.” When someone does something nice for you and you ask them why they did it, the last thing we want to hear is “because I have to.” When someone does something nice I personally hope that they wanted to do it. Giving that is done out of obligation, or with a bad attitude is not worshipful giving at all. Paul says that “God loves a cheerful giver.” When we give out of a worshipful heart, knowing that everything we have is God’s anyway, and knowing that we will reap what we sow, giving becomes a blast. It’s something that we get to do, not have to do.
Application:
If you were really being honest, how is your attitude when you give? Is it a “have to”, or a “get to”? If your attitude is not right, what should you do?

I do think for the most part I have a “get to” attitude when it comes to giving, especially of money and things. I could probably stand to work on the attitude in terms of “time” giving on occasion. I think when my attitude is not where it should be, I need to pray about it and remind myself of the bigger picture and that it is not about me anyways.
My attitude isn’t always right when I’m giving, and that’s something I’ve been working on! I like what is said above, how when someone does something nice for you the last thing you want to hear is “I did it because I had to..” I’m sure God feels the same way when we give with the wrong attitude! That’s why it’s so important to have the right attitude 🙂
Giving for me to be honest it’s a oh ”I have to” and what I can do is try to memorise this verse because it tells me that God likes a when we give cheerfully.
im more of a “get to” kind of giver.almost all the time i basically give anything.but there is somethings that i give grudgingly.i really need to work on that.im gonna pray about it.great devo today! sorry i’ve kinda been off and on with my devos.im slacking but its just been hard cuz i need to help with my mom and its alot and i’ve been forgetting.im sorry.forgive me please.thanks.i promise i will try my hardest to get back on here more.i remember when there used to be like more than 10 comments now theres only like 3 or 4 now.thats sad.i’ll try better i promise.im happy that alexis laura and blake have still been faithful with their devos.well,hope you guys have an awesome spring break and i hope to see you soon! 🙂 <333333333333
