Accountable to God: Day 59

March 30, 2012
Today’s Text: Matthew 28:18-20
Today’s Key Thought: Jesus didn’t leave us without help in making disciples.

Jesus accompanied this incredibly important command with an incredible promise.  He said, “And lo, I am with you always, even until the end of the world.”  Wow!  Can you imagine what this meant to the disciples, who not too much earlier had probably thought that they would never see Jesus again?  Jesus tells them that He would never leave them.  As Christ followers we can rest assured that He will always be there to lead us.  As we point people to Him He will be there for them.  When we tell people that God will forgive their sins based on what Jesus did on the cross we are telling them the Truth, because God will keep His promises to them and to us.

Application:

How does knowing that Jesus will never leave us or forsake us affect you?  Will it help you to be more obedient to the command to make disciples or less?  Explain.

  1. It will probably help me be more obedient because I know he’s there with me. I used to always be worried if I got scared about something like telling someone about God.mow that’s why my life verse is Joshua 1:9. It says that the lord your God will be with you wherever you go.now that’s why I feel better about spreading his word and making disciples.well great devo I know I’m probably like the only one on here but whatever hope u guys r having fun (wish I could be there…)

We miss you two Allie! Good job. We are all accompanied by God by his holy spirit in whatever we do, wherever we go. This is a great comfort in whatever situation we are in. See you Sunday!
