Come again…

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  John 14:1-3

There is a lot that we can be worried about today. The economy isn’t what it used to be. Family situations can make us stressed out. Relationships get strained and weigh on our hearts.  Some of our schedules are packed so tightly that we get stressed out in the busyness of life.

Jesus gives us some really great news in the verses today.  He was talking to his disciples in these verses but they apply so well to us right now.

“Let not your heart be troubled.”  Don’t be worried.  Don’t be afraid.  Don’t be stressed out.  Why?   This world isn’t all there is.  Jesus is preparing a place for us in the one that is to come.

Pastor Bales says it all the time.  “Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.”  If you have trusted in Christ, and have been forgiven of your sins then you have been prepared by God to spend eternity with him.

And guess what?  He’s coming back.  He will right all wrongs, and bring to justice all the injustice that we see today.

So for now, maybe we need to do some things to help us not be so worried.  Financial problems?  Do a budget.  Relationship problems?  Seek forgiveness and love.  Schedule to tight?  Maybe it’s time to say no to some things, and prioritize your time around some Biblical values.  But even if all that you can do doesn’t work, know this:  Jesus is preparing a place for His children- and He is coming back!

Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
Luke 12:40.

I like this verse (John 14:1-3) because it is saying that god is getting ready to make a place for you in his home and one day he will come down to get you and you will be where ever god is. I also like Luke 12:40 because it says that god will come in an hour that you won’t expect him to come. God is coming someday and he will take you to his home will you will live with him for eternal life and life happily ever after hehe.

  4. This devotion was perfect for me today! It totally encouraged me. I’ve been strung out on stress latley and I’ve been allowing myself to be. Stress is something I allow to grab ahold of me, and I’ve really been letting it do that. These verses today are such a great reminder that this world, the place we get so stressed about and seek acceptance from, it’s not our home, it’s a temporary one, but God has our real home for us in heaven. & our actions and the way we live our life here for God matters for eternity! I know I new to stop letting stress get to me.. It’s been hard, but I’m really going to let God start taking complete control, because I know the area I’m stressing about, He will provide! God’s so amazing 😀
Great day at Sonshine and soaker at the Martell’s house! Had a blast! 🙂 see you all Wednesday!
