Devotion for Tuesday, December 6
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
The ultimate voice that we need in our life is the voice of God. What is so cool is that He has spoken to us clearly in black and white. Today’s text tells us that all scripture is God breathed and is profitable for 4 thing:
Doctrine: What we are to believe.
Reproof: What not to believe.
Correction: What not to do.
Instruction in righteous: What to do.
What you believe directs what you do. God’s voice needs to be spoken into your life through His Word to help you know what to believe, what not to believe, what to do and what not to do.
Application:
Does God’s voice influence what you believe and what you do? Not in theory- in real life…today?
Gods word does influence what I do and it’s good because on my wall I wrote “I can do all things tthrough Christ who strengthens me” philipeanas And it’s the first thing I see when I wake up and everytime I see it I know that god is with me and I can do anything with him by my side and strengthing me. God word also influences what I believe for example I know that god made this whole world and in spite of that I don’t believe in the big bang theory. I also believe that everything that is in the bible is true because god says it is and ect. 🙂
I try to make sure God is a HUGE voice in my life! I know it’s so important for Him to be #1. Sometimes it’s hard though, I get busy and forget to pray or do my devotions and usually when that happens things seem to be going worse. It’s weird that I know He needs to be above everything, but I have a hard time actually doing it! I try though. Lately, I’ve been making sure I pray about everything! Cause when I take time to pray, it always makes me feel better, like I’m not going through this alone, which I’m not 😀 God for sure makes everything wayyyy better!
I agree with you, Mafalda! I love that verse too, it’s one of my favorites! 🙂
I hope you guys have a great day!
Hey guys!! 🙂 I’m at bowland instead of shook today so I figured I can do my Devo rite now. 🙂 today’s subject is the bible. The bible is a piece of history tht god has given us to learn more about him in. It can influence us by the people we hang out with and the people we talk to! 🙂
PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!! my mom got the job yesterday!!!!!!!!! 🙂 thanks u for all ur prayers!! 🙂 love u guys! 🙂
That’s great Tristian!! 🙂 God is so good!
That is Awsome Tristian!
For the longest time I didn’t read my bible because I honestly thought it was impossible to understand. I realized that was just an excuse, because God’s word is so clear! Sometimes it’s a little tricky to understand, but most of the time if we actually take the time to read it and study through it, like we’re supposed to, it becomes clearer. There are things in the bible that are very easy to understand, and others that it takes some work, but both of those things happen for a reason. God wants us to understand his word, but he also wants us to take the time to read it and study it so that we really get what he’s trying to teach us through it. It’s kinda a no brainer when you think about God’s word being a good voice. It’s like, duh.. But it’s so important! It’s not something to take lightly, because his word can/ and does make a huge impact on our lives. I used to think that if i prayed and went to church missing out on my devotions wasn’t a big deal, but in reality it really is. Each day God talks to us through his word, and every opportunity we put off, is another opportunity we just lost to hear what God was gonna teach us that day.
Being a Christian, people watch us. Not in a creepy way, but because we display the title of Christian, people watch us to see what we’re all about, and if what we believe matches up with what we say and do. This is why matching our lives up with what God has said in the bible is soooo important. Lindsey had someone call her a hypocrite last year because she let her actions get the best of her. She still regrets it to this day. Let’s not let others think we’re hypocrites. Let’s match up our lives with God’s word. Because He truly is a good voice that we NEED in our lives!!
that was (and always is 😉 ) some good stuff 🙂
Sometimes God’s not the biggest voice in my life. Other people get in the way of His voice, even tho I wish I payed much more attention to His! But I find that God’s voice had the biggest influence in my life. Him & my parents. The more I read the bible, the more I learn what to do & not to do, and I learn about Him 🙂 i want my everyday actions to be Godly, not just actions that get me thru the day. I want my school day to be filled with patience, love, & compassion towards others. I don’t want the bad voices to influence me to do things against God’s word. I do a lot.. But the more I read te bible, go to church, & pray, the closer I feel to god, and the louder his voice gets 🙂
God’s voice really does influence me cause if it didn’t I wouldn’t be the person I am today! I know for me it is really hard sometimes to hear his voice cause kids from school presure me into doing things I know is wrong, I am just not hearing God’s voice like I should be!
God’s voice is definitely a big thing in my life! I fail alot, because I’m human afterall…..but for the most part I try my best to do what God would want. One reason: It’s what God wants! And another reason: God knows best so things will turn out better, of course! Now that I’m going to a public school and “putting God and what He wants” isn’t at the top of list…..it can be hard sometimes to listen to God’s voice. There are so many voices persuading me to do wrong and sometimes they sound better than what God wants for me. I know they aren’t, though, because God always has the better plan.
It may sound weird that going to a public school would make me grow closer to God, but going to a public school has really made my relationship with God more personal and not just another routine for the day. I’ve seen myself growing and actually evaluating things, applying them to my life, and trying to live life with the mindset of ‘God first’ I agree there are a lot more negative influences but I feel like those encourage me to push harder. They give me a reason to want God.
^^^^^ i don’t know what that paragraph had to do with the question xD i kinda just felt like writing it….and thanks for the birthday wishes guys. I had a great birthday! 😀
