Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. What do you think it would have been like to be Mary and find out the news that you’re pregnant without an earthly father?

Ound out I was pregnant I would be like what should I tell my parents who’s the father and I would be scared out of my mind, but I would do what I was told. If I was joseph I would be like what when did this happen and I would also be happy that god is giving me such a beautiful baby and a beautiful wife :).

If I was in Mary’s shoes I would be terrified! I mean having a baby without a father now is bad enough, can you imagine this happening way back then?! I know I wouldn’t have the faith that Mary did, she’s seriously incredible! & Joseph is pretty amazing too! A lot of guys wouldn’t stay with their fiance if he found out she was pregnant and says it’s from God. I never really understood this part of the Christmas story until I got older, whereas now, Mary could have been my age! :O And I cannot imagine going through that, but Mary did! Amazing 🙂
This would really test my faith and would be terrifying. But the cool thing about this is that they both trusted in God, and God guided them through it.
If I was Mary that day the first thing to pop in my mind would be my parents are going to be really mad that i’m pregnant but they din’t now at the time that she was giving berth to our saviour ”Jesus” but God hellped them threw the hole thing like the angle of the lord said that God would help them threw it all and if I was Joseph I would be scared my fiance is pregnant and I had no clue I would be really scared but then again I think Joseph new that God would help them threw it.
if i was in that situation i would be scared out of my mind! since obviously having a baby without a father is obviously bad enough but being a virgin is even more scary! like ryan said i would test my faith.being so young it really would test my faith.especially giving birth to Jesus.now if i was joseph knowing my fiance was pregnant that would also be scary.not really knowing what was happening.i really loved how God doing this really tested their faith.although we don’t always know why things happen sometimes,its just God testing your faith 🙂
I don’t even know how I would even react! If I was Mary back then, idk if I would’ve been calm and understanding like she was. I would probably think oh my goodness.. No one gonna believe me, what do I say! A virgin that is all of a sudden pregnant is shocking, and what’s more shocking was that she was pregnant with the Savior of the world!! I’d probably feel completely blessed by God, but also very scared. Especially Joseph! His fiancé just becomes pregnant, I’m sure he was scared too. To be a father to someone from God must’ve been absoulutley scary.. I know if I was in his place I’d be terrified. But what’s cool about both Mary & Joseph was that they had the ultimate trust & faith in God that they didn’t worry. Such a huge responsibilty was put in God’s hands the second Gabriel (the angel) came to Mary, and when an angel visited Joseph in his dream. hopefully if I’m ever put in a scary situation like this, I look to God & trust Him just like they did 🙂
