Devotion: What’s next?

For January 11, 2014

Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. (Psalms 5:8)

Have you ever wondered, “What’s next? Where do I go? What do I do?” Just to be really transparent, that’s where I am right now. So today I came across this verse- and it lead to two very simple but very important ideas that I need to remember.

1. When you don’t know where to go or what do to do, do what you know.
God’s righteousness is revealed to us through the Word of God and David here asks for God to lead Him in His righteousness. There is a ton that God has told us to do. We’ve got to make sure we are obeying Him in what we know.

2. When you don’t know where to go or what to do, ask God to guide you.
Here is a great question- Have we asked God what we wants? Have we asked him to make the way plain? Maybe He hasn’t answered because we haven’t asked.

So- What’s next?
