Accountable to God: Day 52

March 21, 2012
Today’s Text: John 1:14
Today’s Key Thought:
God has revealed himself to us in the person of Jesus Christ.

Imagine being in a perfect place.  There is no pain, hurt, difficulty, or any other effects of sin.  Then imagine having to leave that place to come to a place that is full of all of those things.  This is exactly what Jesus did when he came to earth.  He “became flesh”.  This eternally existent Creator became like His Creation.   Not only did He become human, but he lived among us.  John even states that not only did they see His full humanity, but they also saw HIS divinity (“and we beheld his glory, theglory as of the only begotten of the Father”).

Jesus came and showed us who He was.  He revealed God to us.  If we are going to be like Him, then we ought to help people get to see God’s impact in our lives in our actions and words.

We may be the only “bible” someone sees. I can’t imagine going from a perfect place to an imperfect one. It is like going from rich to poor overnight. That would be hard to do. But I thank God He did do it for me. We need to expose who we are more too.

I agree with Laura. Some people tht army saved can always be like well all u have is the bible. And how do u know he is real? Well of purse I do cu it says so in the bible! He is real! God sent his son to die for us on the cross for ur sins and mine actually.. Everyone. But my parents say tht I’m a good influence on my older brother Ezra since he isn’t saved if would affect him the most. I have a plan of what we talked about last week and to take tht next step. So pray for me to succeed with Ezra and my next step with him! 🙂 I love u all and c u guys tonight! 🙂

  3. Pastor Ben always says that there’s specific opportunities to show someone the gospel in our personal lives that no one else would have, and that is so true! Christ has revealed himself to us, and if we’re going to be Christ-like we need to show Him to others. I know if I lived in a place that was perfect I would NOT want to leave that and come to a sin-filled world! But that just shows how much He loves us, and we need to show others the love that Jesus has shown us!
